Day 57-Footprints

The southern San Jaun mountains looking much less snowy than when we left them two weeks ago.
There is still snow--but the fun kind now (for the most part).  Portrait is boot skiing down a short slop.

Walking in footprints is easier than being the first to break the trail.  we didn't have to spend as much time navigating and ended up hiking 21 miles.  We set up camp in the dark, but we were at a much lower elevation than what we had spent the day at.  I'm either getting a cold or the elevation is giving me a cough and either way it is nice to sleep lower.
