CDT Care Package

Portrait and I came up with a list of places where we'd gratefully receive care packages.  There are a few town stops on the CDT that have no stores and no places to get something tasty to eat.  This list is made up mostly of those places, but we have a few other towns listed just to cover the trail.  If you'd like to send a care package leave a comment here or get in touch via email or Facebook.

Some ideas of what we like:  we like hot chocolate packets, dried fruit, chocolate covered pretzels or chocolate covered nuts, chips, nutella, fruit gummy candies and packaged meats

  1. So great to see you two setting out again on the trail. It was a real treat to meet you both at Hart's Pass last season. Charles and I will be thinking of you both as you tackle this thru-hike. Did you find hot cocoa before you headed out? I seem to remember you liked the Nestlé cocoa assortment I had at Hart's Pass. And, can we send you some Mountain House dinners? Any flavors you don't like in the Mountain House meal line? Looking forward to your safe arrival at the starting point. PCT Trail Angel Where's Chris?

    1. Hi Where's Chris! Great to hear from you. With the help of my Aunt I did get most of the hot chocolate I need, but if you want to send some along that would be awesome. Maybe to Cuba, NM (see list above for details). I have it scheduled that I'll be buying 4 days of food there. I haven't had many Mountain House meals before, but I don't like spicy and most of my premade meals are rice based so maybe some pasta ones (and I don't cook breakfast so as good as their breakfasts are, they don't work well for me). For any other guidence for what to pick, we like gummy candies, salty snacks, and packaged meats (summer suasage, bacon bits). Take care

    2. Hi Where's Chris! We picked up the package you sent us yesterday. Thanks so much. The hike is going great--we'll be out of New Mexico in no time. Take care.
