| With the rental car Colorado was ours for the touring. So we took a tour of the trail towns yet to come. Portrait and I spent most of our time in Salida--which we will get to soon. We meet up with Highlife for breakfast and a trip to Walmart. I spent nearly 2 hours in the library updating the blog. We rounded out our stay with a trip to the outfitters for socks. |

| We made it back to Pagosa Springs post offce just before 5 p.m. There was a moment of stress when we thought we had to return the car at an airport an hour away...turned out the place we wanted was just across the street from the post office. Then it was time to hitch up to Wolf Creek Pass. |

| Around 6:30 we made it up to the pass. Instead of hiking any we set up camp just inside some trees so we couldn't be seen from the road. |
